Pakistan vs England Prediction & Betting Tips - World Test Championship
by Yunchu Li in Cricket Predictions
Pakistan welcomes England to the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium for the historic first test of the three match series. This will be the first time in 17 years that England will be playing a test match in Pakistan although they did play a T20 series in the country earlier this year in preparation for their T20 World Cup success. Pakistan has more to play for in this series as they chase a place in the final of the ICC Test Championship to be played at the Oval in England. The home team are currently fifth place behind the likes of Australia and South Africa, who occupy the top two spots. Pakistan will have a near full strength team for this match with only fast bowler Shaheen Afridi out with an injured knee. They have selected a few new faces in their bowling line up and they know nothing short of a win will allow them to climb up the Test league table.
England will be looking to make a successful Test return to Pakistan but will find that task very difficult especially with the news that pace bowler Mark Wood will not be available for at least the first test. They have also selected 18 year old leg spinner Rehan Ahmed who would become the youngest ever player for England if he is handed a debut in the match. It will be a baptism of fire for the youngster against batsmen who play spin very well. The visitors will miss the experience of 36 year old Stuart Broad who has missed the tour due to family reasons. England will be playing for pride as they cannot qualify for the Test Championship final after losses in the Ashes and to the West indies.
