Elimination from the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy is already assured ahead of the final Group A game between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Both teams lost their two opening games to ensure this final match between the Men in Green and the Tigers is little more than a battle for pride. What is our prediction for this final game for both teams in the tournament?
As the third-ranked ODI team in the world, Pakistan have had a poor tournament. However, they have an excellent record against Bangladesh with 34 wins from 39 contests, including winning all the last three matches against their neighbors. All those wins came in relatively comfortable fashion (one by 94 runs, the other two both by seven wickets).
Bangladesh will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the one-day format of the game. They have lost all their last six ODI's and were well beaten by both India and New Zealand in their two previous 2025 ICC Champions Trophy Group A matches.

Pakistan - Bangladesh: Form Analysis
Pakistan came into the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy as holders and hosts. The Men in Green were expected to perform well on home soil as the third-ranked ODI team in the world, but two defeats in their opening two games ended their tournament prematurely.
Pakistan lost by 60 runs to New Zealand in their opening game.
That loss put them under pressure against fierce rivals India, especially with the game being played in Dubai. A six-wicket defeat with 45 balls remaining combined with New Zealand’s win over Bangladesh confirmed Pakistan’s exit from the tournament.
They’ll want to go out on a high against a team that they have won their last three one-day matches with comfortably.
Bangladesh were always the rank outsiders in Group A, so it won’t be any surprise to them to know they are eliminated from the tournament. They began brightly, scoring 228 against India, but eventually lost by six wickets.
It was a similar story against New Zealand, where they scored 236, but the Black Caps eventually secured a five wicket victory with 23 balls remaining.
Bangladesh are winless in their last six one-day games.
Worse still, they have lost 34 of 39 One Day games against Pakistan.

Pakistan & Bangladesh Squad Analysis
Pakistan are still without opening batsman Fakhar Zaman, who was ruled out of the tournament with injury sustained when fielding in the opening match against New Zealand. Imam-ul-Haq replaced him against India as opening batsman but only mustered ten runs against India.
That did allow Saud Shakeel to move back to number three against India and he responded well, top-scoring for Pakistan with 62 runs in that game and he will want a similar score here against Bangladesh.
Exciting young bowler Naseem Shah is one to watch for Pakistan.
Bangladesh could also opt to rotate players for this dead rubber to give those players in the squad who have not played a chance to compete in the Champions Trophy.
Number seven batsman Jaker Ali has been their most consistent player in the tournament, but batting collapses nearer the top of the order in both previous Champions Trophy games have meant his major contributions to the team’s score have not yielded a win.
