Pablo Carreno Busta is the world number 15 and top seed for the Andalucia Open. He takes on fourth seeded Albert Ramos Vinolas for a place in the final against either Carlos Alcaraz or Jaume Munar. Busta is bidding to reach his fifth ATP Tour final played on a clay surface. He only won one of the last four, a victory in Portugal four years. His last final was two years ago when winning a hard court tournament in China. This year hasn't been that great for the Spaniard. He was knocked out in the last 32 of the Australian Open but is more comfortable on clay. This week has seen him win both of his matches in straight sets. The quarter final saw him beat s-w Khon for the loss of just four games.

Albert Ramos Vinolas has had a slightly tougher route to this semi-final. Both of his matches have been against unseeded players with each match going to three sets. In his quarter final, Vinolas had to come from a set down to get the better of Norbert Gombos. The 33-year-old is ranked 47th in the world and is bidding to reach his second final of the year. After his first round exit to Taylor Fritz in the Australian Open, he headed to South America for some clay court action. He reached the final in Cordoba, losing to Juan Manuel Cerundolo in three sets. His opponent was ranked 335th in the world at the time. All a bit disappointing after beating world number nine Diego Schwartzmann earlier in the tournament.  He lost to Cerundolo again in the semi-finals of a tournament held in Buenos Aires. He's met Busta on three previous occasions, winning the most recent one in China but that was in 2017. The other two clashes were both on clay with Busta victorious in both. Go for him to make it three successive clay wins over his opponent.
