Oscar Otte vs Christopher Eubanks Prediction & Betting Tips - Dallas Open
by Kennedy Kechula in Tennis Predictions
World number 80 Oscar Otte and world number 104 Christopher Eubanks will for the first time face off, in the first round of the Dallas Open on Tuesday. The match will be played on an indoor hard court. Otte was eliminated in the first round at last year’s championship by the wild card Jack Sock. The German number two has started the season in poor form, with just one win from his last five matches. As part of the German team at the United Cup, he defeated Dalibor Svrcina (world number 184) in straight sets but lost in the ensuing match, also by straight sets, to Frances Tiafoe. From there he was eliminated at Adelaide 2 in the qualifiers and in the first round at the Australian Open. His last match before arriving in Dallas saw him win the first set but lose 2-1 to world number 53 Marc-Andrea Huesler in the Davis Cup. The 29-year-old broke into the top 100 for the first time in 2022 and reached as high as number 36 thanks largely due to semi-final appearances in Munich, Stuttgart and Halle.
Christopher Eubanks is fairing much better in the year than Otte and has won four of his six matches thus far. The American has played in two tournaments in 2023. He was eliminated in the round of 16 in Auckland after coming through qualifying. Eubanks made it to the second round of the Australian Open after a five-set thriller with world number 60 Soonwoo Kwon in the first round. He exited the tournament after another intense showdown with Jiri Lehecka that went to four sets. Eubanks has won three Challenger titles and reached two more finals last year losing both to compatriot Ben Shelton. Those two finals, coupled with winning his first match at a Grand Slam (US Open) saw him break into the top 120 and has steadily been on the rise since. He is up to a new career-high 102nd in the live ranking. Eubanks was eliminated in last year’s Dallas championship by Vasek Pospisil in qualifying. The winner will progress to play either seventh seed Marcos Giron or a yet-to-be-known qualifier in the second round.

Our Oscar Otte vs Christopher Eubanks Prediction
Oscar Otte is ranked 24 places higher than Christopher Eubanks but his form coming into this game has him as the underdog. It will be a tough match for the German against a younger opponent who will be buoyed by playing in front of home support. Despite dropping sets in almost every game he has played this year, Eubanks is in fine form coming into this game as well as on indoor surfaces. Our prediction, therefore, is a win for Eubanks in three sets.
