Oscar Otte vs Brandon Nakashima Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Miami
by Devesh Jaganath | in Tennis Predictions
Oscar Otte and Brandon Nakashima will meet for the first time in their careers when they face off in the opening round of the Miami Open this Wednesday. Oscar Otte has had a difficult year so far and is yet to make it past the second round of any of the tournaments he’s featured in to date. The German, currently ranked 85th in the world, has a record of 3-9 for the year, with his only wins coming at the United Cup, Dallas Open, and in the first round at Indian Wells, where he beat Laslo Djere (6-3, 6-3). Otte’s last match was in the Phoenix Challenger event, where he was drawn against Alexei Popyrin in the opening round and was beaten fairly comprehensively by the Australian (6-4, 6-3). Otte looks out of sorts this year and will hope that a win in this one could get his season back on track, though it will be difficult against a higher-ranked opponent in Nakashima.
Meanwhile, Brandon Nakashima will be looking to continue to build his way back to full fitness in this one after missing most of the major tournaments this year through injury. The American has only played six matches this year and has not made it past the second round of any of the four tournaments he’s competed in. Nakashima bowed out in the first round of the Adelaide 2 and Australian Open tournaments and was then out for a month before returning in Acapulco, where he got to the round of 16 before falling to Mackenzie Mcdonald (6-2, 6-0). He showed some improvement at Indian Wells earlier this month, beating John Isner in the tournament opener (7-6, 6-3) but was drawn against an in-form Daniil Medvedev in the round of 64, who proved too strong and went on to win the match (6-4, 6-3). Nakashima has a record of 2-4 this year and will be hoping that he can go deep into this tournament as he continues to work his way back to his best.

Our Oscar Otte vs Brandon Nakashima Prediction
While neither of these players are playing their best tennis this year, the German has arguably struggled more than his opponent, who looked much better at Indian Wells and may have gone deeper in the tournament but for coming up against Daniil Medvedev, who is in the form of his life. We expect Nakashima to continue his road to full fitness and overcome this opponent with another strong display. Our Oscar Otte v Brandon Nakashima prediction is a win for Nakashima.
