The winner of this match will secure the seventh seed and will face the Celtics in the Playoffs, while the loser will take on either the Bulls or Heat on Friday. During the 2024-25 campaign, the Orlando Magic held a 2-1 lead in this series before these sides met in a dead-rubber match, which the Hawks won on the final day of the regular season 117-105.

Still, the Magic limited Atlanta to 112 or fewer points in all four encounters this season and ended the term with a solid 7-3 record in their final 10 games, including four wins in their last six at home. 

The Magic struggled on offence the entire season, averaging just 105.4 points per game (28th in the league), but they possess the league’s best defence that allows only 105.5 PPG.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks ended the season 5-5 in their final 10 games, though they did win the last three matches during that period, beating the Nets, 76ers and the Magic, respectively. 

However, Atlanta were exposed on defence throughout the season, ending with an average of 119.3 points conceded per game, which was the fourth-worst record in the NBA. 

While the Hawks are a top-five scoring team and have the ability to post big numbers, they will need to find a way to deal with Paolo Banchero, who scored 30+ points in each of his three games against them this season.
