Ninth seed Petra Kvitova’s quest to become Wimbledon champion again continues on Monday with her fourth-round showdown with Ons Jabeur. The winner here will advance to the quarterfinals to face third seed Elina Rybakina or 13th seed Beatriz Haddad Maia. Sixth seed Jabeur lost in the final here last year and is seeking to make amends this season. She will first have to overcome the challenge of a player who has defeated her four times and once in this competition. To advance to this round, Jabeur came from a set down to defeat Bianca Andreescu 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. This was the world number six’s fourth win on grass and the 19th of a season that has been disrupted by injury. Jabeur claimed her first victory against Kvitova last season in Sydney and will hope to rise to the occasion again.

Petra Kvitova defeated Jabeur in the first round at Wimbledon in 2019 and since then has won four of their five battles. Kvitova is a two-time champion here but nine years have passed since her last success. With how dominant she has been on grass this year, she will fancy her chances of going all the way again. The Czech number one has won all eight matches she has played on grass. She arrived at the All England Club after winning the German Open which was her second title of the year. Kvitova defeated the qualifier Natalija Stevanovic 2-0 in her last match which moved her up to eighth in the live ranking.
