Marketa Vondrousova and Ons Jabeur meet in their second matches in the Chetumal Group of the WTA Finals. Both players lost their opening matches so will need a win here to keep alive their hopes of making it into the semi-finals of this outdoor hard court event. Jabeur is the sixth seed in this tournament but made a nightmare start to this group. Only one game was won as the Tunisian was beaten by third seeded Coco Gauff. After this match against Marketa Vondrousova, her final match is against Iga Swiatek. Jabeur recently won the Ningbo Open but that didn't require her to beat any player ranked in the top 80. That's her only hard court title won this year, her other success was in a clay court tournament held in Charleston. Although Jabeur has qualified for these finals, she owes a great deal to her performances in Grand Slams with the final reached at Wimbledon and a quarter final at Roland Garros. No top 30 ranked player has been beaten by her since August and she's still waiting for her first hard court win over a top ten ranked player since the 2022 WTA Finals.

Her first match in this group saw her beaten by Iga Swiatek. The first set went to a tie-break but the second was nowhere near as close with Swiatek winning it 6-0. This should be a tight match and we opt for Vondrousova to get the victory.
