Both of these players are in their second successive Grand Slam quarter final. Unseeded Ajla Tomljanovic takes on the fifth seeded Ons Jabeur with the winner facing either Coco Gauff or Caroline Garcia in the semi-final. Tomljanovic is the world number 46 but is a career high 34th in the live rankings. A win here will see her rise to 24th and it's looking good for her to be seeded at the next Grand Slam, her home Australian Open. Tomljanovic hadn't made it past the third round in the US Open before this year. Wins have come against three players all of whom had protected rankings to get into the US Open. That includes Karolina Muchova and Serena Williams. Two of her matches so far have gone to a final set.

Ons Jabeur had also not made it past the third round of this Grand Slam until this week. The Wimbledon finalist is up to third in the live rankings and beating Tomljanovic will see her move up to second. Only Iga Swiatek has earned more ranking points this year than Jabeur but there's a big gap between the pair. The Tunisian has dropped just one set (to Shelby Rogers) on her way to this quarter final. She's never lost to Tomljanovic with two wins, the most recent being earlier this year and the other way back in 2012. Back Jabeur to get the win here.
