Jessica Pegula has reached round three of the Australian Open for the loss of only nine games. The sixth seed now takes on unseeded Olga Danilovic for a place in the last 16 of this outdoor hard court Grand Slam. Here's our match prediction.

Seeded opposition will be faced by the winner in the last 16. That will be either 11th seed Paula Badosa or 17th-seeded Mata Kostyuk with Coco Gauff the likely quarter-final opponent. Pegula is up to fifth in the live rankings after getting to the third round in Melbourne.

Wins have come against Maya Joint and Elise Mertens, both of whom were unseeded but  have shown good form this year. Pegula was the losing finalist in the Adelaide International earlier this month.

Olga Danilovic has risen to a career-high 48th in the live rankings. The Serb is in the third round of this Grand Slam for the first time. A win here will equal her best performance of a fourth round in Paris last year.

The 23-year-old (24 next week) has beaten Arantxa Rus and 25th seed Liudmila Samsonova so far in this tournament, both in straight sets. Her only warm-up match this year saw her lose to Maya Joint, who Pegula beat in round one.
