The OKC Thunder will welcome struggling Dallas Mavericks next as they seek a third successive victory in the NBA. OKC are top of the Western Conference with a 13.5-game cushion on their visitors, who are down in ninth. Below is our prediction for this match.

The Thunder won their last two matches and have an 8-2 record from the previous 10 fixtures. Mike Daigneualt’s men are coming off a 123-114 win over the visiting Utah Jazz.

Their 36th win of the season kept them seven games clear of their closest challengers out in the West. Shai Gilgeous Alexander grabbed a career-high 54 points against the Jazz, strengthening his credentials for being named MVP.

The Mavericks have stagnated, and injuries aren’t helping. Jason Kidd’s men have just three wins in their last 13 matches. This slump coincided with Luka Doncic going down with a calf injury on Christmas Day.

In that stretch, other team superstars have been unavailable due to injuries, and for this trip, the injury report contains eight players. Derrick Lively, Dante Exum, Dwight Powell, and Jaden Hardy have all joined Doncic in the absentees’ list.
