Nuno Borges vs Jakub Mensik Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP US Open

After two straight sets victories, Nuno Borges faces fellow unseeded player Jakub Mensik in the US Open third round. Who will make it into the last 16 of this hard court Grand Slam? Here's our match prediction.

Nuno Borges was so nearly seeded for this tournament. He just missed out but after two wins this week is up to 32nd in the live rankings. The past two years have seen him lose in round one of this tournament but not this time.

He has had comfortable wins over Federico Coria (losing only seven games) and Thanasi Kokkinakis in round two. A win here wiill take him into the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the second time in 2024.

The other was in the Australian Open. One Challenger Tour final  has been reached this year and the last eight in Delray Beach and he's again going well this week in New York. 

Jakub Mensik celebrates his 19th birthday on Sunday. He's already had an early present by achieving a new career-high. He's up to 67th in the live rankings after reaching round three here for the second successive year.

Mensik beat 19th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime in round one, losing only eight games. It was a lot more difficult in his next match though as he lost the first two sets to wild card Tristian Skoolmate.

He fought back to win in five, with the final two sets both going to a tie-break. Three were played in the match so a side bet on one against Borges might be a winner. 

He'd been beaten in the qualifying rounds in his last three hard court tournaments. Earlier this year, he got to the final in Doha but doesn't look in that kind of form this week. We tip Borges to win this match.
