The week has started well for both of these players. Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner meet in the Green Group of the ATP Finals having both won their opening matches. It was a big win for Novak Djokovic as the top seed beat eigth seeded Holger Rune in three sets. That victory means the Serb will definitely end 2023 as the world number one. It wasn''t an easy win though with both of the first two sets going to a tie-break. Djokovic won the first, Rune the second but the world number one won the decider 6-3. His form continues to be excellent with six titles being won in 2023 and over $11 million earned in prize money. He recently won the Paris Masters making it two Masters events and a Grand Slam being won in his last three tournaments. His only loss in 33 matches was the Wimbledon final against Carlos Alcaraz and that was on grass.

Jannik Sinner is the fourth seed and has had a strong second half of the year. He's at a career high ranking now and has won four titles this calendar year. Two of those titles have come in the past few weeks and both saw him defeat world number three Daniil Medvedev. His first group match saw him defeat Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets and after this clash with Djokovic, takes on Holger Rune. His record against Djokovic is poor and all three previous meetings have ended in defeat but this is their first match on a hard court. We go for Djokovic to get the victory here.
