Novak Djokovic vs Milos Raonic Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cincinnati Open
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
We reach the end of August and world number one Novak Djokovic is yet to lose a singles match this year. He bids to win the Western and Southern Open title when taking on Milos Raonic. There has of course been a long suspension of men's tennis due to the ongoing health crisis. This tournament is usually played in Cincinatti but this year we're in New York just ahead of the US Open that starts on Monday. Djokovic began the year in top form winning in Dubai, then the Australian Open, before winning all six of his matches in the ATP Cup. 18 wins in a row and that has now become 22 as he reaches the final of this tournament. Only one set has been dropped this week, that was in his semi-final as he lost the first set against Roberto Bautista Agut before winning the next two. Djokovic has only won this tournament once, that was in 2018. He's been beaten in the final on five occasions and won't want to be making that six in this match.
One of the matches Djokovic won earlier this year was against Milos Raonic. That was a quarter final in the Australian Open with the world number one winning in straight sets against the Canadian. Raonic is currently ranked 30th in the world and has played Djokovic on ten previous occasions, losing each and every one of them. He's only won one set in his last five meetings with Djokovic but has shown good form this week. He started off with two wins over British players Dan Evans and Andy Murray without dropping a set. Then in the quarter finals he found himself one set down to Filip Krajinovic before rallying to win the next two. The last four saw him upset the odds when beating fourth seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas, the second time he's beaten the Greek this year. It hadn't been a great year for Raonic before the suspension with only one win against a player ranked higher than him. Djokovic is the man in form again and he can get the win here to set himself up nicely for the US Open.

Our Novak Djokovic vs Milos Raonic Prediction
Novak Djokovic is the odds on favourite to win this final and the US Open that begins next week. He's only dropped one set this week and has a 100% record against his opponent. Raonic hasn't had the best of years unless playing Stefanos Tsitsipas. Always a dangerous outsider, he may well put in a good show in the US Open. This looks a step too far though for the Canadian, go for a Djokovic win.
