Novak Djokovic vs Lorenzo Sonego Prediction & Betting Tips - Rome, Italy
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
It's a hectic day for Novak Djokovic in the Rome Masters. His quarter final against Stefanos Tsitisipas went into a second day due to rain delays on Friday. The world number one fought back from a set and a break down to beat his Greek opponent. He now takes on unseeded Lorenzo Sonego in the semi-final. It's his eighth successive last four appearance in this tournament, he's won it four times. This week has seen him beat Taylor Fritz and Alejandro Davidovich- Fokina before his battle with Tstisipas.
Lorenzo Sonego has had to win three matches to reach the last four. Each of his matches has seen him defeat a seeded player with Gael Monfils, Dominic Thiem and Andrey Rublev all beaten. He's ranked 33rd but will be up to 28 next week, even higher if he can win this match. He's chasing a second clay court title of the year after his recent success in Cagliari. That was a 250 event, this week it's a 1000 Masters so much tougher opposition. He's met Djokovic once and beat him for the loss of three games. That was in Austria last year, Djokovic looks to be in much better form at present and this is on clay. Go for Djokovic to win in straight sets.
