Novak Djokovic vs Hubert Hurkacz Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Mutua Madrid Open

Novak Djokovic is the top seed for the Madrid Masters. He takes on 12th seeded Hubert Hurkacz in the quarter finals and the possible semi-final opponents include Rafa Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz. Djokovic received a walkover in the third round after scheduled opponent Andy Murray withdrew due to illness. That was good and bad news for Djokovic as he does need as much time on court after not playing a great deal this year. He's bidding to win this title for the fourth time and won here on his last visit three years ago. The world number one position has been confirmed for another week but Djokovic is yet to win a title this year. His best performance was on clay in Belgrade when reaching the final but losing to Andrey Rublev. His only match in this tournament has seen him defeat Gael Monfils (as he always does) for the loss of only five games. He also has a 100 per cent record against Hubert Hurkacz with three previous victories, one on clay in the 2019 French Open.

Hubert Hurkacz began this week ranked 14th in the world and that's a five place drop since the start of 2022. He is bidding to reach his third semi-final of the year though. Hurkacz has already got to the last four in Doha and the Miami Masters. In those tournaments he had wins over two top ten players, namely Jannik Sinner and world number two Daniil Medvedev. On clay this year, the Pole got to the quarter finals in Monte Carlo, losing to Grigor Dimitrov in three sets. His overall clay court record isn't that great. He's never made it past the second round at Roland Garros and won only two tournaments at the lower levels. This tournament has seen him beat qualifier Hugo Dellien in three sets, Alejandro Davodich-Fokina (again in three) and Dusan Lajovic in straight sets. Back Djokovic to get the win and make it to the semi-finals.
