Novak Djokovic has won the Paris Masters four times and that's more than any other player. He hasn't won it since 2015 though but is only two games away from regaining his title. It'll be a bit of compensation for the fact he's about to lose his world number one ranking. Failure to win this match against Grigor Dimitrov will end his hopes of ending the year top of the rankings if Rafael Nadal reaches the final. Djokovic has had wins over Corentin Moutet, Kyle Edmund and Stefanos Tsitsipas to reach this semi-final. He looked in fantastic form when losing just three games in his quarter final.

Grigor Dimitrov began the week ranked 27 in the world. This run to the semi-finals sees his live ranking climb to 20th. He's only lost one set in this tournament and that was in his first round match against Ugo Humbert. He fought back to win that match and hasn't looked back since. Wins have come against 12th seed David Goffin and fifth seeded Dominic Thiem losing just five games against the latter. The quarter final saw him again get a straight sets win, this time against unseeded Cristian Garin. He has lost eight of his nine previous matches against Novak Djokovic.
