Seventh seed Novak Djokovic and third seed Carlos Alcaraz will face off in a mouthwatering quarter-final clash at the Australian Open. The winner of their fourth showdown at a major will play Tommy Paul or Alexander Zverev for a place in the final. Below is our prediction for this match.

Djokovic has defeated Alcaraz four times in seven meetings. He won their most recent matchup to claim Gold at last year’s Paris Olympics.

The Serb also defeated Alcaraz at the ATP Finals and Roland Garros on his way to claim those titles. Djokovic is seeking an unprecedented 11th title in Melbourne. 

The 37-year-old, eighth in the live ranking, defeated Jiri Lehecka in the last round.

Alcaraz is in the last eight in Melbourne for the second consecutive season. He fell in this round last year and will be eager to avoid a repeat.

Alcaraz has registered two of his three victories against Djokovic at Grand Slam level. Both have come in the championship match at Wimbledon. 

The world number three has been in fine form in his run to the second week and only once in four matches has he lost a set. 

Alcaraz defeated Jack Draper, who retired after two sets, in the last round.
