Seventh seed Novak Djokovic will take on second seed Alexander Zverev in the Australian Open semi-finals. The winner here will face Jannik Sinner, Alex de Minaur, Ben Shelton or Lorenzo Sonego in the final. Below is our prediction for this match.

Novak Djokovic is two wins away from an unprecedented 11th title in Melbourne. Another Norman Brookes trophy for the Serb and he will extend his Grand Slam record to 25 Singles Men’s titles.

Djokovic, who has won seven of his eight matches this season, defeated Carlos Alcaraz in four sets in the quarter-finals. This was his 98th victory in Melbourne.

He has moved back up to sixth in the live ranking, has an 8-4 record against Zverev.

Alexander Zverev will look to his previous four triumphs against Djokovic to earn one of his biggest wins in this fixture.

Zverev has lost all three of his battles at Grand Slams against Djokovic but has won a championship match against the Serb. Zverev, who is unbeaten through his opening seven matches of the campaign, defeated Tommy Paul in four sets in the quarter-finals.

With Alcaraz exiting the championship, Zverev will remain the world number two. The German lost both times he made it this far in Melbourne. In total, he has lost six of the eight major semi-final contests he has faced.
