The Handball Girls of Norway take on South Korea on Tuesday. This match is in Group B of the Preliminary Round in the Women's Olympic handball tournament. Norway are second in the group with South Korea in fifth. Read on to discover our prediction.
Norway lost to Sweden in their opening match in this group. They were ahead in that match but couldn't hold on for the win. A better result came in match two as they recorded a commanding 27-18 win over Denmark.
That's taken them into second place in the group, two points behind the Swedes with three games to play. A top four finish is needed to qualify a team for the quarter-finals. Norway should have few problems in achieving that.
They are ultra-consistent in the Olympics with only one of their last eight appearances seeing them fail to return home with a medal. The 2023 World Championship losing finalists are the current European champions and have won three of their last four games.
South Korea caused a surprise in their opening match when beating Germany by a single goal. It was back to earth in their second group fixture as they lost to Slovenia by seven goals. They are still in with a chance of a top four finish but have some tough fixtures ahead of them.
The last two Olympics have seen them finish in eighth place. They had a poor World Championships last year though, finishing in 22nd place. South Korea played Norway in that tournament and were beaten by 10 goals. We tip Norway to win this on a -8.5 goal handicap.
