Familiar foes Norway and Denmark are set to meet in the semi-final of the Women’s Handball competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Thursday evening. The winner of this match will move on to face either Sweden or France in the grand final on August 10. Check out our prediction below.

Norway have finished on the podium in each of their last four Olympic Games and are now one win away from guaranteeing themselves at least a silver medal in Paris. 

Handballjentene topped Group A during the preliminary round with eight points and a record of four wins and one loss. They were also joint-top-scorers in the group with 140 goals and conceded the fewest of any team in the competition (110). 

The Norwegians lost their first match 32-28 to Sweden but bounced back with four straight wins to clinch the top spot before outclassing Brazil to a 32-15 victory in the quarter-final on Tuesday. 

Notably, Norway also beat their upcoming opponents earlier in the competition and are unbeaten in their last four encounters dating back to December 2023.

Meanwhile, Denmark are looking to return to the podium for the first time since winning three gold medals in succession between 1996-2004. They finished third in Group A, also with eight points, with their only defeat coming against Norway (27-18).

Handbolddamerne overcame the Netherlands in a closely contested quarter-final 29-25 and now have a record of seven wins and three losses in their last 10 matches in all competitions.
