Group E of the preliminary round in the Men's World Handball Championships sees Norway face Brazil. After this opening match, the two sides still have Portugal and the USA to play. Can Norway get off to a winning start? Read our match prediction below.
Norway reached the last eight of the Olympic Games tournament in 2024. At the last World Championships, the Norwegians finished in sixth place but nearly reached the semi-finals. They only lost to Spain in the last eight by a point after extra time. They then lost to Germany in the fifth/sixth place play-off.
They have played three pre-tournament friendlies and beat Egypt and Romania. However, they lost a lead against Spain and were beaten by a two-goal margin.
Brazil are bidding to reach the Main Round of this tournament for the fourth successive edition. Their preparations for this tournament haven't gone too well.
Two friendlies were played against Germany and both ended in defeat for the Brazilians. That made it three successive losses for them after a defeat by Spain in the Olympic Games qualifying tournament in which they finished third causing them to miss out on the finals.
