Pool C of the 2023 Men's European Volleyball Championships begins sees Denmark take on North Macedonia. Neither of these two countries are expected to finish in the top two with Poland, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands more strongly fancied to progress. Denmark are ranked 43rd in the world and that's only a place behind their opponents. This is their first European Championships since 2013 when finishing in 12th place. They come into this match in poor form having lost each of their last four matches. The most recent of those was a 3-0 loss to Croatia and before that they'd been beaten by Portugal, Romania and Turkey. Their last win was when beating Portugal 3-1. Four of their matches in the 2023 Golden European League ended in defeat.

North Macedonia finished 23rd in the last European Championships held two years ago. Last year saw them get a second place finish in the European League. Their form is also far less than impressive with only one win in the last five played and each of the three losses saw them fail to win a set. The only recent win has been against Egypt but that's a good result as the Egyptians are ranked 20th in the world. The Golden European League held in June saw them get two wins over countries that are ranked higher than them. This looks like being a tight match and we go for North Macedonia to get the win.
