Nino Serdarusic vs Hamad Medjedovic Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Challenger Szekesfehervar, Hungary Men Singles
by Steve Ashfield in Tennis Predictions
Eighth seeded Hamad Mededovic bids to become the first winner of the Kiskut Open. He takes on the unseeded Nino Serdarusic in the final of this Challenger Tour event. Hamad Mededovic began this tournament ranked 217th in the world and that was a career high for the 19-year-old Serb. After reaching this final, he's up 12 places and winning the title will see him rise to 192nd. He's been a regular on the Challenger Tour this year but struggling to get past the last 16 of events. That's all changed in the past few weeks though and he made the last four in Bengaluru in February. This week has gone even better for him as he returns to a clay court surface. He won three ITF tournaments on this surface last year and in July 2022 won his maiden Challenger Tour event. This week has seen him reach the final despite losing a set in each of his first three matches. He was much more impressive in the last four when beating ninth seeded Evan Furness for the loss of just three games.
Nino Serdarusic started this Challenger Tour event in Hungary ranked 257th. Last June the Croat was a career high 167th but in the live rankings is up to 248th, winning this title will see him rise to 233rd. It's not been a great year for the 26-year-old He'd played in seven tournaments and not won a single match in any of them. His one appearance on the ATP Tour was in the Australian Open, losing in the first qualifying round to Fernando Verdasco after winning the first set. His last five matches had all been lost in straight sets but he's hit form this week. He's played in four previous Challenger Tour finals (losing them all) and winning seven out of 18 ITF finals. All of those finals were played on clay. He finally got a win this year with a first round success over Mate Valkusz after losing the first set. It was the same story in round two and he also had to go to three sets in the last four. That round saw him knock out the top seeded Fabian Marozsan winning the final set on a tie-break. Back Mededovic to win the title.
