Nicolás Jarry vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Santiago Open

Nicolas Jarry bids to win his home Chile Open for the first time in his career. He takes on Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the final of this clay court tournament. Jarry was ranked 87th at the start of this tournament and was given a special exemption into the main draw. He's certainly made the most of it and now attempts to win only his second ATP Tour event. His previous success was in Bastad in 2019, also on clay. He's up to 69th in the live rankings and winning this title will take him up to 52nd. It's been a good year for Jarry and that's reflected by the fact he's 20th in the Live ATP Race and will climb up to 16th if winning this match. He reached the second round of the Australian Open and on clay got to the last four in Rio. His good form has continued this week with wins including a success over fourth seeded Diego Schwartzman. His semi-final saw Jarry come recover from a slow start against Jaume Munar (the first set was lost 6-1) to win in three sets.

Tomas Martin Etcheverry has also shown good form on clay in recent weeks. He's now a career high 60th in the live rankings and if he can beat Jarry, he'll rise to 49th. He's not had quite as good a year as his opponent but is 34th in the Live ATP Race and can move up to 22nd with a win here. The Argentinian reached the quarter finals in Buenos Aires but has gone two rounds further this week. He's beaten two seeded players to reach his first ATP Tour final. Second seeded Fancisco Cerundolo was beaten in round two and in the last four he defeated third seed Sebastian Baez in straight sets. He's had three previous matches against Jarry and won them all. The most recent of those victories came in Cordoba last year.  This looks like being a closely fought final and we go for Etcheverry to get the win.
