Facundo Diaz Acosta has advanced to the first tour final of his career. Before this year he had not even played in a tour semifinal and yet here he is in a championship match. The Argentine will be hoping support from the home crowd sees him finish as the last man standing. He has been in excellent form in this event and has won all four rounds without dropping a set. The 23-year-old defeated Federico Coria by the loss of five games in the semifinals. This was his eighth win of the season and the sixth to be achieved on clay. Advancing to the final has seen him scale up the ATP world rankings with ease. He started the competition almost outside the top 100 but is now up to 69th in the live ranking, a new career high.
