In-form 13th seeded Alex de Minaur bids to reach the US Open fourth round for the third time. He takes on the 23rd seed Nicolas Jarry who is in new territory as far as this Grand Slam goes. Alex de Minaur has been in great form on hard courts in recent weeks. Two finals in Los Cabos and Toronto have been reached by the Australian who is up to a career high 11th in the live rankings. He also holds that position in the Live ATP Race so could yet qualify for the Tour Finals. He's reached the fourth round here on two previous occasions and in 2020 got as far as the last eight. The Australian has made it to round three with only one set dropped. Round two saw him put in an impressive performance as only 11 games were dropped against Yibling Wu.

To qualify for the fourth round, Nicolas Jarry has to beat his opponent for the first time. Two previous meetings have been lost, the most recent being on a hard court in Acapulco. This is the third consecutive Grand Slam in which he's reached the third round, all on different surfaces. Before this year, he hadn't shown good form at Flushing Meadows. Only two matches had been won out of seven in the qualifying rounds and the main draw. He's fared better this year but lost a set in both of his two matches. He's up to a career high 21st in the live rankings but our tip here is a win for de Minaur.
