Dragons are home to Montpellier in their opening match in this season's European Rugby Challenge Cup. This is a Pool B fixture and also to be played are Lions, Newcastle Falcons, Ospreys and Pau. Here's our match prediction.
The top four in this pool will make their way into the last 16. Dragons are having a poor season in the United Rugby Championship and are bottom of the table. Of their seven games played in that competition this season, all but one have been lost.
Their one victory came at home to Ospreys in September coming from behind to win by two points. Their most recent fixture saw them travel to Cardiff Rugby and lose by eight points. Last season saw them finish fifth in their pool and fail to reach the last 16. Two of their last three home defeats have been by a margin of less than five points and they will be hoping to get a win this weekend.
Montpellier are ninth in Top 14 and the French side have won four and lost seven of their 11 games. Two of their last three league games have ended in defeat. Only USA Perpignan have scored less points in Top 14 this season.
Their last five away games have been lost and we tip Dragons to make that six.
