The Newcastle Falcons will welcome the Exeter Chiefs to Kingston Park this Friday evening for a round five English Premiership clash. The Falcons are currently rooted to the bottom of the table and have not yet recorded a point while the Chiefs are one position above them with just four points. Here is our match prediction.

The Falcons put on another dreadful display last weekend when they suffered a 43-10 loss at the hands of the Sale Sharks.

Having now lost all four games this campaign, Newcastle are en route to another dismal season, just like last term, when they failed to record a win in all 18 domestic league matches.

Unfortunately, the hosts’ home form does not improve the outlook either, as they have failed to record a win in 13 straight matches across all competitions. 

The Chiefs, on the other hand, were involved in a closely contested match with the Bears last weekend where a single 75th-minute try and conversion were the deciding factors in the 40-35 loss at home.

That defeat was their fourth in succession in this competition, while two of those losses saw them throw matches away from winning positions.

However, while the visitors have lost eight of their last nine matches on the road, they will fancy their chances of notching up their first win of the season here, given their upcoming opponents’ record over the last year.
