New York has been flying high all season but are experiencing a downturn in form as of late, resulting in a disappointing 2-1 series loss to bitter rivals Boston. However, the Bronx Bombers still sit atop the division with a comfortable 10 game lead over the second place Blue Jays and their 72-43 record is the fourth-best in all of baseball. The visiting Tampa Bay Rays come into New York looking to put some breathing room between themselves and Baltimore in the race for the AL Wild Card. The Rays’ 60-53 record sees them barely holding on to the third and final Wild Card spot with Baltimore trailing them by only a game and a half.
