Two Atlantic Division rivals face off on Wednesday evening in the NBA as the New York Knicks host the Philadelphia 76ers. The Knicks are third in the East standings with a 37-20 record while the 76ers find themselves down in 11th place at 20-37. Here’s our match prediction.

It’s been a tough week for Knicks fans as they had to endure their team dropping two straight against the East’s crème de la crème. A heavy 142-105 blowout road loss to the Cavaliers last Friday was followed up by a 118-105 road defeat to the Celtics on Sunday.

The consecutive losses snapped a previous three-game winning streak for New York and was the first time they had lost two straight games since early January. New York now returns to MSG where they will look to improve upon their 20-10 home mark.

Philadelphia’s nightmare season has seen no respite in recent weeks as things have gone from bad to worse. A 142-110 beatdown at the hands of the Chicago Bulls on Monday marked the eighth loss in a row for the 76ers who have now dropped to 17 games below .500.

Amazingly, they’re still somewhat in the playoff picture as they trail the final play-in spot (the 10th-placed Bulls) by just 2.5 games.
