The New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets will face off in the second round of the NBA Emirates Cup at Madison Square Garden on Saturday morning. The Knicks (5-6) are fourth in the Eastern Conference, while the Nets (5-7) are eighth in the conference standings. Let’s jump into the match prediction. 

The New York Knicks were dealt their fourth defeat in their last six matches in midweek when they were edged 124-123 by the Chicago Bulls at this venue. 

Karl-Anthony Towns produced a 46-point haul and 10 rebounds to help the team close an early 22-point deficit but they let their fourth-quarter lead slip with just three seconds to play. 

The Knicks are just outside the top 10 in the scoring and defending charts this season, putting up 114.9 PPG, while allowing 111.3 per outing - both ranking 11th overall.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets also suffered their fourth defeat in the last six in the week when they were thrashed 139-114 at home by the Boston Celtics. 

Ziaire Williams scored 23 points and Cam Thomas added 17 but Brooklyn were simply unable to keep up with the scoring rate of the defending champions.

The Nets rank 18th on offence this season, scoring 111.1 PPG, and 19th on defence, allowing 113.9 points per game.
