It's going to take a lot of work for either of these sides to claim a wild card position. They both play in AFC East with Miami in third and the New York Jets in bottom place. Miami have a 3-7 season record and are 13th overall in the AFC, a couple of wins behind the final wild card position. The Dolphins haven't made it into the play-offs since 2016 and that wait looks like being extended another year. They do have a good chance of winning this match though and that would be a third win in a row. The wins have been needed because after beating New England in their opening game, they lost the next seven. Their last two games have produced wins over Houston and Baltimore. 

The New York Jets are in 14th place in the AFC and have won only two of their first nine games this season. They haven't made the play-offs since 2010, the longest drought in the NFL. Last year saw them go until their 13th game before getting a win and ended with a 2-14 record. Two games against Miami were lost by a combined total of 44-3 so they'll hope for a better set of results this year, but that's not looking likely. The Jets lost five of their first six games this season. Their only wins have come against Tennessee and Cincinnati, both by a three-point margin. Their main problem is the number of points they concede with 175 points in the last four matches. Back th Dolphins to get the win.
