The New York Jets host the Kansas City Chiefs for Monday Night Football in week four of the 2023/24 NFL season. The Jets are sitting fourth in the AFC East while their opponents, the defending Super Bowl champions, are in first-place in the AFC West. It’s shaping up to be another rough season for Jets fans who might just be thinking that the quarterback position is cursed for this franchise. Aaron Rodgers played just four snaps with New York before suffering a season-ending injury in the first game. Underwhelming former second round pick Zach Wilson is now the starting quarterback for Gang Green with his team currently managing one win and two losses. The Jets are coming off a 15-10 home loss to rivals New England in their last outing and will now have to face off against arguably the NFL’s best offense.

The Chiefs experienced a somewhat sluggish start to the new season, something that is not uncommon with a team coming off a Super Bowl win. Kansas City dropped the NFL season opener to the Lions 21-20 on Thursday Night Football. They would recover by grinding out a 17-9 win against the Jaguars in week two before their offensive explosion last week. Patrick Mahomes and his Chiefs team looked back to their best last Sunday against the Bears. The defending champions scored on seven straight possessions and led by 41 points at one point. It was a reminder to the rest of the league as to why they are the current oddsmakers’ favorites to defend their crown. Kansas City will face a much tougher test this week in the Jets’ defense but will be confident of their chances given their recent play.
