New York Islanders vs Dallas Stars Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL

The 26-13-5 Dallas Stars are on the road in the early hours of Monday morning to take on the 19-15-11 New York Islanders. The Isles will be happy to be back on home ice after a poor road trip that saw them lose all four games. They are 11-5-6 at home this season so they will hope that they can turn their fortune around but with just two wins in their last 10 games, they are going to have to play an awful lot better. They were beaten in Chicago early on Saturday morning, a game against the second worst team in the NHL and a team who have more injuries than any other should really have seen them pick up more than a point for getting the game to overtime. Wins and losses have been alternated in their last seven at home and it's seen them slip outside of the playoff places. They are 20th in goals scored and 27th in goals conceded so have been poor on both sides of the puck.
This is game three of a four-game road trip for the Stars who will play the night before in New Jersey. They suffered a heavy defeat in the first game of the trip 1-5 in Philadelphia against the Flyers. In their last 11 games, the Stars have notched up six wins but three of those have been over the Chicago Blackhawks and two over the Minnesota Wild, two teams who are not really in playoff contention. They are 3-0-1 in the second half of their first four back-to-back situations this season which is interesting as most teams have a lesser record when they are playing for a second night on the bounce. This is a team who they have had the better of in recent seasons and they play them when their confidence is low.
