New York Islanders vs Boston Bruins Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL

An excellent Eastern Conference matchup early on Sunday as the 25-20-14 New York Islanders play host to the 35-12-14 Boston Bruins. The Isles were excellent in Detroit in the early hours of Friday, ending the Red Wings' six-game win streak. They were winners in Dallas prior to that as well but they might not be so happy back at home as they have lost their last four games at UBS Arena. They have already lost to the Bruins, both here and on the road this season and went 0-3 against them last season so it is fair to say that Boston has had their measure. They sit six points outside the playoffs at present, which is probably an overachievement given that their offence is 21st of the 32 teams in goals scored and their defence is 23rd.
The Bruins have lost just five times in regulation on the road this season which is an exceptional record, the best in the NHL. They have taken their opportunities well when they have presented themselves against the Isles this season. In the two games so far, the Isles have taken six penalties with the Bruins cashing in with five powerplay goals. They have the 8th best power play in the league this season but when they are going against the worst penalty kill, it is no surprise to see that there has been a mismatch. Charlie Coyle had a hat trick in the November meeting and he has three goals in his last four games so he will be licking his lips ahead of this contest.
