Monday Night Football in the NFL sees a classic NFC East rivalry when the Dallas Cowboys head northeast to the Big Apple to take on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. The Giants come into this one in tremendous spirits after a fantastic start to the year, squeaking by the Titans and Panthers to get off to a 2-0 start for the first time since the 2016 season. The Cowboys, on the other hand, have had to deal with an early season injury to franchise quarterback Dak Prescott which sees the 29-year-old out until possibly week 8. Backup Cooper Rush came in week two and delivered the team’s first win of the season, outlasting the Bengals 20-17 to put the Boys at 1-1 on the year.

Look for the Dallas pass rush to have a good game in this one, led by second-year phenom Micah Parsons. The 23-year-old is tied for the second most sacks in the NFL with four to his name already and is coming up against a Giants offensive line that has been one of the worst in the league at protecting the quarterback. Both sides will look to control the game through their running backs and the Giants Saquon Barkley and Cowboys Ezekiel Elliot are both poised to have big games. The Cowboys have more weapons overall even without their first choice quarterback and should be able to get it done here.

We’re going to back the Dallas Cowboys to be leading at halftime as our bet for this game. The Cowboys have done an excellent job of putting backup Cooper Rush in positions to succeed early on in games which points to a good game plan by the coaching staff. The Giants offensive line has not done an effective job at protecting quarterback Daniel Jones so far in the season and will likely struggle here coming up against one of the NFL’s best pass rushes in Micah Parsons and the Cowboys. The low total points to both teams likely looking to establish the run and control the clock but Dallas should be able to do enough to edge the first 30 minutes.
