New Orleans Saints vs Baltimore Ravens Prediction & Betting Tips - NFL
by Joseph King | in NFL Predictions
Monday Night Football sees the New Orleans Saints taking on the Baltimore Ravens at the Superdome to close out week nine in the NFL. The Ravens top the AFC North with a 5-3 record following their narrow win over the Browns in week 8 and will hope to open up some breathing room between themselves and the second-place Bengals at 4-4. For the Saints, they were able to get back to winning ways after a dominant display against the Raiders to move their record to 3-5 on the season. Despite the losing record, the Saints are still in the hunt for the division title as the NFC South appears to be wide open this season thanks to Tampa Bay’s struggles.

New Orleans Saints - Baltimore Ravens: Form Analysis
The Saints put on a defensive masterclass in their week eight win over Las Vegas, shutting out the Raiders en route to a 24-0 win. New Orlean’s defense finally showed up after having previously allowed 200 points in the opening seven games. They’ll now be tasked with slowing down this versatile Ravens offense, led by quarterback Lamar Jackson who is having another MVP caliber season. The 25-year-old dual-threat QB currently holds the fourth best odds to win the MVP according to the bookmakers with odds of around 10/1. The Ravens rely heavily on their run game to drive the offense forward. Baltimore ranks 26th in passing yards with 1,635 but second in the NFL in rushing yards at 1,325. The Saints path to victory will be shutting down the ground threat that the Ravens possess.

New Orleans Saints & Baltimore Ravens Squad Analysis
Raven’s tight end Mark Andrews' status for this game is still up in the air. His absence would be a huge loss for the Ravens and really limit what they are able to do in the passing game. Quarterback Lamar Jackson has targeted Andrews 64 times already this season, the most among all tight ends in the NFL. If the Saints can keep the momentum from the previous game, notably on the defensive side, then they will be good value to win this game outright. This New Orleans defense has been hugely disappointing in the first half of the season but we caught a glimpse of what many people expected from them before the season started in their last outing.
New Orleans Saints - Baltimore Ravens Key Points
- The Ravens lead the league in tight end targets, throwing to the position 97 times while the Chiefs are someway off in second-place at 79.
- The Saints defense is elite when defending tight ends and haven’t allowed a passing touchdown to that position so far this season.
- Baltimore is 3-4-1 against the spread this season overall while the Saints are 3-2 against the spread at home.

Our New Orleans Saints vs Baltimore Ravens Prediction
We’re going to back the New Orleans Saints on the +2.5 spread as our bet for this match. The hosts are certainly live dogs here to win this game outright given the injuries that the Ravens have suffered to the tight end and wide receiver position. While they certainly won’t shutout his Ravens team like they did to the Raiders, expect another high-quality performance from the Saints defense to lead their team to victory.
