The New Orleans Pelicans will host the San Antonio Spurs for the first game of an NBA back-to-back between the two. Both are lowly ranked in the West and sit amongst the four worst teams in the Conference. Below is our prediction for this match.

The Pelicans returned from recess with a 111-103 loss away to the Mavericks. They put up a strong fight in Dallas for much in the game until the final two minutes.

Only one other team has suffered more losses than Willie Green's men' 43 defeats this season. New Orleans sit bottom in the West with only 13 wins recorded. 

The Spurs resumed for the second half of the season with a strong 120-109 victory over fellow playoff hopefuls the Suns. However, they couldn't record a successive victory in their follow-up game, losing 125-110 at home to the Pistons.

Their 30th loss of the season saw them drop to six games below .500. Gregg Popovich’s men's playoffs target has now gotten even tougher.

Victor Wembanyama being ruled out for the remainder of the season with an injury makes things harder. Coach Pop will also not be on the sidelines as he recovers from a stroke suffered earlier in the season.

The Spurs won the first meeting with the Pels at home back in December by five points.
