On Thursday, we head to the Smoothie King Center to see the New Orleans Pelicans take on the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA. The Pels (9-32) are bottom of the Western Conference standings while the Mavs (22-18) are sixth. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

The New Orleans Pelicans are getting healthier and starting to turn things around, notching up their fourth win in seven last night, beating the Chicago Bulls 119-113 on the road. 

Trey Murphy led the team with 32 points, four assists and six rebounds, Zion Williamson contributed 21 points and nine assists, and Dejounte Murray added 15 points and seven assists. 

However, the Pels are still bottom-six on both ends this season, 26th for points scored (108.0) and 25th for points against (117.1). 

Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have been short-handed lately and find themselves in a slump, having lost their seventh game in the last 10 to the Nuggets 118-99 last night.

Only three Dallas players, Daniel Gafford, Naji Marshall and Kyrie Irving, got into double digits, while Klay Thompson managed just eight points in the blowout defeat. 

The Mavs are still a top-10 offence, averaging 115.6 points per game, but they have slipped to 14th in the defensive charts, allowing 112.0 PPG.
