The New England Patriots didn't get off to the best of starts this season. They won their opener against Houston Texans but then suffered two away defeats at Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions. That led to a crucial game against Miami Dolphins but they cruised to a 38-7 home win and followed that up with a 38-24 home victory over Indianapolis Colts. That took them to 3-2 for the season and they go into this game leading the AFC West from the Dolphins but it's a tight division. Their offense only averaged 19 points a game in their first three matches of the season but that's improved since then with Tom Brady in form again.

He'll need to keep that form going as the Patriots take on the Kansas City Chiefs who are top of the AFC East and have won all five of their games this season. This is a major test of just how good they are and whether they can go all the way to the Super Bowl. Last weekend saw them beat Jackonsville Jaguars 30-14 but QB Patrick Mahomes wasn't at his best and it was the turn of the defence to show their skills. Mahomes had two interceptions and no touchdown passes though he did score one and pass for 313 yards. This should be a cracker and an informative evening as Mahomes' inexperience is put to test. The Patriots have Brady and running back Sony Michel in form while Kansas will be missing Justin Houston. Home advantage and experience wlll be vital and the Patriots can win this.
