New England Patriots vs Kansas City Chiefs Prediction & Betting Tips - NFL

The 3-10 New England Patriots host the 8-4 Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday evening in a game that means nothing more than pride for the hosts but a step towards defending their Super Bowl win for the visitors. The Pats are one of only two teams who are officially out of contention as we close in on the last few weeks of the regular season, despite going into Pittsburgh and beating the Steelers last week. They walked into a sizeable early lead but needed the defence to stand firm as the Steelers finally found a way to create some offence in the second half. Pittsburgh are in a playoff position heading into this week but given they had lost at home to the 2-10 Arizona Cardinals the week prior, it is hard to know exactly what the Pats win is really worth in the grand scheme of things. They have a single win at home this season which came against the Buffalo Bills but have been shutout twice by the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Chargers.

Things have been difficult of late for the Chiefs, a loss on the road to the Green Bay Packers was disappointing and then they fell at home to the Bills last week which has seen their lead in the AFC West down to a single game over the Denver Broncos. There is just not the same spark that we are used to from this team. That loss to the Bills will have left them feeling aggrieved all week after a potentially game-winning touchdown was taken away late when Kadarius Toney was flagged for lining up offside. That ought to light a fire under an offence that has been under increasing pressure following some stuttering performances but they will need to score points against a defence who have been one of the best in the league in recent weeks.
