National League All Stars vs American League All Stars Prediction & Betting Tips - All Star Game
by Joseph King | in Baseball Predictions
The Major League Baseball All-Star game is upon us yet again as we reach the halfway mark in the season with the American League and National League ready to battle it out in the 92nd edition of the midsummer classic. Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles is the perfect venue for such a star-studded event and it's always entertaining seeing baseball’s biggest names take the field together. Aaron Judge comes in as the top voted American League player with the Yankees slugger leading the league in home runs at 33 and making his fourth All-Star appearance. For the National League, Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr leads out the lineup making his third appearance at only 24 years of age. It will also be interesting to see how the AL uses megastar Shoei Ohtani, the once in a century two-way player who was the feature of last year's iteration when he got the starting pitcher spot as well as the designated hitter position in the lineup.
The American League boasts a quite incredible eight game winning streak over the National League in this yearly matchup. However, they are pegged as very slight underdogs in this exhibition with the oddsmakers indicating that this could finally be the year that the NL snap their extended losing streak. They will have to contend with a host of injuries to some big names including three of the best pitchers in the conference in Max Fried, Carlos Rodon and Corbin Burnes. They’ll also be without some big bats in the form of seven-time All-Stars Nolan Arenado and Bryce Harper. With the injuries to the NL and the strength of the American League pitching rotation with names like Ohtani and upstart Alek Manoah, there is a good chance the streak could be pushed to nine consecutive wins with the AL once again coming out victorious.
