Naomi Osaka vs Coco Gauff Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA China Open

For the first time in two years Cori Gauff and Naomi Osaka will face off. The two meet in the fourth round of the China Open this Tuesday. We have the preview and prediction going into this match, from which the winner will play Yulia Starodubtseva or Anhelina Kalinina in the quarter-finals.

Osaka is a former Beijing champion and will fancy a title charge. The former world number one is slowly getting back to her best. She has claimed four wins in her last five outings, improving her record to 22-17.

Returning to Beijing for the first time since 2019, Osaka won two of her matches here in straight sets. She defeated Katie Volynets by the loss of five games in the last round. Her performance has moved her 15 places in the live ranking and into 58th.

Osaka has twice beaten Gauff, most recently three seasons ago in Cincinnati.

Cori Gauff has also beaten Osaka twice. She won in straight sets the last time they faced off, in San Jose last year. The American is defending the 390 points she won here last year in her run to the semi-finals as a debutant.

She has looked incredible so far and has won both her matches in straight sets. Gauff overcame the challenge of Briton Katie Boulter in the third round by the loss of seven games.

The world number six has had a strong season but it hasn’t truly reflected on the silverware front. So far, Gauff, who has won 43 matches, has claimed just one title. That was in Auckland at the start of the year.

She has suffered most of her losses, five, in the semi-finals.
