Irish side Munster begin their European Rugby Champions Cup campaign with a home match against Stade Francais Paris. Can Munster get a win in their first pool match? Read our prediction.
This match is being played in Pool 3 which also includes Bulls, Castres, Northampton Saints and Saracens. A top four finish will take a club into the last 16 and fifth earns a transfer to the European Rugby Challenge Cup.
The 2023/24 competition saw Munster reach the last 16 where they lost to Northampton Saints. They are currently 11th in the United Rugby Championship with three wins and four defeats. All three of their wins have come at home, most recently a 17-10 win over Lions.
Stade Francais Paris will hope for a better campaign than last season. They lost all four of their matches and were eliminated at the pool stage. The away side are 12th in Top 14 this season with four wins and seven losses. Their away form is a major problem with all six of their games being lost.
202 points have been conceded in those six losses with only 89 points scored. All but one of their last five away losses have seen at least 30 points conceded. We go for Munster to get a home win and defy a -12.5 points handicap.
