Jaume Munar, unseeded, and qualifier Facundo Bagnis will face off next at the Cordoba Open. They will square off in the quarterfinals with the winner going on to play either Tomas Martin Etcheverry or Federico Coria. Jaume Munar produced arguably the shock of the tournament when he defeated top seed Francisco Cerundolo to advance to this round. He won in straight sets to earn his first-ever win over a player who had defeated him three times prior. This allowed him to equal his best-ever finish here. Munar has defeated Bagnis twice in three meetings with all matches being played on clay. This is however their first meeting since 2019. The Spaniard, who has had an inconsistent start to the year, is up three places to 71st in the live ranking.

Facundo Bagnis has moved up a massive 37 places in the live ranking. The former ATP world number 55 is now ranked 170th. He has had a dominant start to the year and has won 10 of 12 matches thus far. All 10 wins have been registered on clay, his favoured surface to play on, and where he has won over 500 matches. The Argentine began the season with a title triumph in Buenos Aires in the challenger circuit. He has won all four matches he has played in Cordoba without dropping a set. And for the first time in the last two seasons, has been able to progress past the first round here. Bagnis made the semifinals of this ATP 250 event in 2021.
