Second seed Casper Ruud will face the unseeded Jaume Munar in the semi-finals of the Dallas Open. This is their sixth career meeting and the winner will play Tommy Paul, Denis Shapovalov or Tomas Machac in the final. Below is our prediction for this match.

Jaume Munar is having quite the start to the season. This is the Spaniard’s second tour semi-final following his strong run in Hong Kong.

Before this season, he had achieved just one tour semi-final appearance since 2021. A one-time tour finalist, Munar defeated eighth seed Matteo Arnaldi in three sets in the quarter-finals.

That was his sixth win in eight outings this season, bumping him up 11 places to 53rd in the live ranking.

Casper Ruud has already beaten Munar this season. He was, however, made to sweat for the victory.

Ruud and Munar met in the first round of the Australian Open with that duel seeing all five sets played. That was the world number five’s fourth victory in this fixture.

Just like Munar, Ruud is also debuting in Dallas.

The Norwegian saw his quarter-final match with Yoshihito Nishioka ended prematurely after Nishioka withdrew in the second set injured. Ruud, a 12-time tour champion, is seeking his maiden tour title on an indoor surface.
