Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings Prediction & Betting Tips -
by Devesh Jaganath | in Indian Premier League Predictions
Old foes the Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings will lock horns in match 29 of the 2024 Indian Premier League on Sunday. The hosts are currently in seventh place in the league standings, while the visitors are fourth. After an atrocious start to the campaign, the Mumbai Indians seem to have found some semblance of their best and are starting to make their way toward the playoff spots. They suffered three consecutive losses in their first three matches, beaten by the Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals before securing their first points of the competition, beating the lowly Capitals. The men from Mumbai then followed that up with another impressive performance, chasing down 196/8 against the Royal Challengers with seven wickets and over four overs to spare. Jasprit Bumrah now wears the purple cap in the competition after an incredible 5/21 against RCB, and the Indian paceman will be searching for another big performance in this one. Despite losing the last three matches against this opponent, the hosts are the favourites in this match.
Meanwhile, the Chennai Super Kings, who are the most successful club in this competition, have made a bit of a mixed start to the 2024 edition of the IPL and head into this match with six points after their first five matches. After solid wins against RCB and the Titans in their first two games, CSK suffered a shock defeat to basement club Delhi Capitals and followed up with another poor display, losing to the Sunrisers Hyderabad by six wickets and 11 balls in game four. However, the men from Chennai seemed to return to their formidable best on Monday when they dismantled KKR for a mere 137/9 and chased down the total with seven wickets and two overs to spare. Mustafizur Rahman trails Bumrah by a single wicket for the purple cap, while Shivam Dube has been the chief contributor with the bat, scoring 176 in his five innings. While Mumbai arguably have the advantage playing at home, you can never write of CSK too early.

Our Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings Prediction
While neither of these sides have found top gear just yet, they tend to lift their performances up a notch when they face each other, and it should be a belter in Mumbai on Sunday. The Wankhede Stadium is known for supporting batsmen and with the lineup that these teams possess, we could be in for a run-fest here. Picking an outright winner feels a little too risky but we expect a few good knocks in this one. Our Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings prediction: Any Player to Score 50.
