Two unseeded players meet in the first round of the Chile Open. Corentin Moutet faces Damir Dzumhur in Santiago and here’s our match prediction.

Seeded opposition could be faced in round two of this outdoor clay court tournament. That’ll be so if sixth seed Mariano Navone can beat Alexander Shevchenko in his first round match. Moutet is 65th in the live rankings and won his only previous match against Dzumhur.

That was played on clay in Rome last year with Moutet losing only four games. This is the Frenchman’s third tournament on the South American clay court circuit. He’s lost two of the three matches he played in Buenos Aires and Rio.

The live rankings have Damir Dzumhur in 90th place. His career-high is 23rd but was achieved in 2018.  The 32-year-old has a 3-6 record this year with two wins out of five on clay. One of those wins came on the Challenger Tour.

His first ATP Tour clay court event so far this year ended in his first match as he lost to Pedro Martinez in three sets. He did fare better in Rio with a win over Dusan Lajovic before a straight sets loss to Camilo Ugo Carabelli.
