He takes on the fourth seed Alejandro Tabilo for a place in the title decider of this outdoor ATP 250 clay court tournament. That final will be against either second seed Sebastian Baez or unseeded Pedro Martinez. Moutet has been climbing the rankings this week after beginning this tournament in Santiago ranked 140th. He's up to 105th after his quarter final victory over the top seed Nicolas Jarry. That match was won in straight sets with both being decided by a tie-break. If he can get past Tabilo, he'll go up to 92nd in the live rankings but still way below his career high of 51st. achieved in November 2022. Moutet had to win two qualifying matches to get into this main draw. One set was lost in those matches. Since then, he's beaten sevent seeded Roberto Carballes Baena and Thiago Augustin Tirante, both matches going to a final set. Alejandro Tabilo is bidding to reach his second ATP Tour final of 2024. He's already won the hard court tournament held in Auckland two months ago. When this tournament began he was ranked 51st but is up to 45th in the live list. Beating Moutet can take him as high as 38th which would be a new career high. He's also 18th in the ATP Live Race and can climb another three places if reaching the final. Tabilo has made it to the last four without dropping a set.
